Do you ever find yourself in a daydream thinking about the future? Dreaming of what your dream life would look like? So many people do this on a daily basis and don’t realise that visualisation it is a technique you can use to improve your mindset.
If you love to set goals either in your personal life, health, business, career or any other area of your life then visualisation is a great tool to use to support you in achieving your goals. Spending time visualising achieving your goals and your life after achieving them will keep you motivated to achieve them.
When I first read the book The Secret I was blown away by the thought that just visualising what you want you can attract it into your life. Since then I’ve seen it in action in both my life and others around me. It really is true you can visualise anything you want to attract into your life. It’s important to remember that that you do still need to take action to achieve what you want. For example if you want to have good health, as well as visualising this you will also need to take action like exercise and eating healthy.
Create a space that you can sit comfortably and relax without any distractions. Without your phone or any other technology around you. I like to start my visualisation with a few minutes of breathing to calm and empty my mind of any thoughts. Then pick something to visualise, I like to plan a certain thing to visualise every day for a certain amount of time and really focus on that one thing.
You can spend as long as you want to visualise and in as much depth as you want. Start with seeing the picture that you are visualising, in as much detail as you can. Then bring in sounds, smells and taste of this is relevant to the situation you are visualising.
Once you have a good view of it start to really reflect on how it makes you feel. How are you feeling having achieved this? Feel the emotions and feelings in your body like you would if it was happening in present time. I visualise once a day in the morning on goals that I have set in both my life and my business. It sets me up feeling motivated and ready for the day and also increases my confidence and belief in myself that I can achieve these goals.
Get creative and start sticking some pictures to a cork board of your goals and dream life. The places you want to visit, house, car, even health and lifestyle. Add anything to this board that will keep you motivated to take action to achieve the lifestyle that you want. You can print pictures, cut from magazines or create one on your phone either on Pinterest or a photo collage. Get creative and start putting a vision board together.
