Over the last 3 years I have read so many personal development books. Reading is how I began my personal development journey, I learned so much from reading books and began to put it into action to manage anxiety, build my confidence and begin to love myself again. I wanted to out together a post of lots of different peoples favourite books, as we all have different taste and take different lessons away from personal development books. The most important part of reading a personal development book is to take what you learn and put it into action in your own life to see results from it. I had to pick this one as it was the first personal development book I read, it started me off on my personal development journey. This book showed me the importance of a morning routine and the impact it can have on your mindset and life. My morning routine has since evolved into the hour long routine it is today, still keeping the original concept taught in this book. It is no doubt the best way to start the day
Many of my own career and lifestyle struggles are centered around boundary issues, respect, and relationship negotiations. This book helped me to identify and name some of the experiences I had with my childhood caregivers and learn how my own habits were hurting me. I also learned how to release some of my harmful beliefs about the way I needed to behave in relationships in order to be loved, and release some of the “positive” benefits I felt I was earning by being so agreeable, or “caretaking,” that were actually hurting me and those I was unhealthy assuming responsibility for.

It gives many examples of the growth mindset & results and the fixed mindset & results in regards to parenting, athletics, business and relationships. For instance she talks about how people in a growth mindset don’t just seek a challenge, they thrive on it. The bigger the challenge, the more they stretch. It is so encouraging to know that when we work on our mindset we can grow!
