Inspiring Interview With Lisa Roe
Today’s inspiring interview is with Lisa Roe of Lisa Designs Life. Enjoy!
Hi, my name is Lisa and I am so glad you are here! I am the founder and creator of Lisa Designs Life. I help heart-centered women style and declutter their home and soul for a happier, mindful and more balanced life. As a wife, a mother of three beautiful grown daughters, and entrepreneur, I love connecting with, and empowering women all over the world to live their best life!
What is your morning routine? How long have you been committed to this? What have the results been?
I set myself up for daily success with a morning routine that takes care of my spiritual, physical, and mental well being. My morning routine starts before I even get out of bed with a full glass of water. I always place a glass of ice water on the nightstand before bed and drink it up when I wake up. Hydration is foundational to good health and drinking water on an empty stomach it’s easier for your body to absorb nutrients, along with a multitude of other positive benefits. After the glass of water is downed, I slip into a time of prayer and gratitude. I give thanks for each new day and open myself up to all that the day has for me. Often, during this contemplative time, a thought comes to mind which sets my focus on what’s next in my morning schedule, a daily meditation.
Immediately following my time in prayer, I spend time in meditation. My daily meditation may be with respect to waking up with energy, feeling happy, connecting to purpose, or lowering stress. Other days I choose a physical healing practice, especially when my autoimmune system needs a boost! Three apps I recommend if you would like to start your meditation practice are Breethe, Calm, and Simple Habit. Simple Habit has five minute practices for days when you need a quick fix. After meditation, I am fully centered and know that it’s going to be an awesome day!
Next up is coffee and cuddle time with my husband J. The two of us chat about the day ahead, share news about our three grown daughters, and discuss life in general over a BIG cup of coffee. After the sweet coffee time together, my hubby hits the shower while I hit the yoga mat. Yoga has been a part of my daily habit for at least five years now. While a lot of folks are eating breakfast, I am getting into the yogi zone! Yoga reminds me to trust my inner self while also reinforcing that I am so much more than my physical body. I do not usually eat breakfast until eleven, this lowers my calorie intake and increases my awareness of what I eat throughout the remainder of the day. I am not suggesting this is a good idea for everyone, just sharing what works for me.
Do you have any personal development habits? How often do you use these? How have they improved your mindset?
A few of my other personal development habits include: writing down goals, celebrating tiny victories, and taking breaks for deep breathing and stretching throughout the day. These habits can radically improve your mindset in a positive way. By tracking your goals and noting both the small and the large accomplishments, you will feel happier with your overall life. My body is host to three autoimmune diseases, (what can I say, I am very hospitable and welcoming!?) which means there are days when I simply can not do as much as I would like to. By tracking my goals and successes, I can look back over the list of wins and feel good about doing even the smallest things for my business, for myself, or for someone in my life.

What is your number one tip or personal development resource recommendation?
My number one tip for personal development is for you to take a few hours each week for self-care. An empty cup cannot runneth over and a dry well is just parched. You can not give what you do not have. Taking a few minutes for YOU each day will help lower your anxiety, increase your happiness, and improve your overall health. I thrive on connecting with heart-centered women like you, pop me an email to share your morning routine and tell me how you set yourself up for success every day.
Whatever you do, follow your heart and stay true to you!
Smiles from Lisa xo
