Do you find yourself wondering how to have a positive mindset? Wishing you knew what the secret to a positive mindset is. Over the last few years I’ve come across so many tools and techniques that have helped me build a positive mindset. Whether it’s confidence, fears, happiness, anger or anything else you’re looking to improve by having a more positive mindset these tips will help you.
Breathing is something we do subconsciously every second of every day but the benefit of taking a deep breath when needed throughout your day is huge. For example if someone is arguing with you and you don’t want to argue – take a deep breath before replying, it will help you to feel calmer and help stop the situation from escalating.
If this is a situation you find yourself in occasionally the best advice I have for this is to walk away, too often in arguments things are said that aren’t meant so it’s best to walk away to avoid this. Taking a deep breath is also very useful when you’re feeling nervous or fearful about something.
It helps you to feel calm and to stop the physically sensations that happen in your body when you’re experiencing anxiety. I used this technique a lot when struggling with anxiety and fears and found it very useful.
I bet your thinking I’m too busy for self-care. Who has time to sit and read a book? Or go for a long walk? Is that what you’re thinking? If it is I’m happy to let you know that it is possible no matter how busy you are. I can’t recommend scheduling time for self-care enough, even if it means waking up 30 minutes earlier to make the time it will be so worth it.
You will find that making the time to look after yourself will have a positive impact on your mindset as well as relationships with family and friends, work and home life. It’s a win win. Start making a list of all the activities you enjoy and schedule time for them in your week. I promise you’ll thank me for it.
Like most, when I was at school I hated learning. But since leaving college I’ve developed a love for educating myself and growing my knowledge. Everyday I learn new things that help to improve and maintain my positive mindset to support me in living a happy and fulfilled life. Here are some ways to educate yourself that won’t take much time or money.
Podcasts – completely free app (the purple icon on iPhone) you can download and listen to podcasts on any topics you wish.
Blogs – like this one there are so many out there with great tools and tips to support you on your journey. I guarantee if you search for something you want to learn in google you will find it in a blog post.
Books – you can buy those cheap on amazon or join your local library, there are so many books with actionable tips on topics like anxiety and confidence as well as how the brain works when it comes to our thoughts and mindset.
YouTube – if you prefer to listen rather than read you’ll find so much content for free on YouTube. Just search a question you want answered and start taking action. Subscribe to my YouTube channel here for more personal development tips and advice.
