Do you feel that you have so much going on that you often end up feeling overwhelmed and unproductive? It’s so easy to do with the busy lives we lead. I’m going to share with you four tips that you can start putting into practice to stay in control and how to avoid burnout in your life. I have added these into my life which is full of full time work, a business and a sport.
Create a plan for your week, get yourself a weekly whiteboard and plan everything out that you need to do. Not only will this help with organisation but it will also keep you on track for doing the tasks that you need to at the time it is scheduled.
If you’ve got a busy day planned, maybe you have lots of housework or have a home based business. Either way schedule regular breaks and make the effort to go for walks, get fresh air, meditate or do anything else to take some time to relax and refresh.
Plan self-care into your week and add it to your calendar as a priority. Schedule it like you would anything else that you need to get done. I recommend spending at least one whole evening per week on self-care. As well as a small period of time everyday when you can. This is best first thing in the morning so you don’t end up carrying on with the day and missing it.

Self-care should be a priority, don’t feel that it is selfish or not important. It will have a positive effect on your mindset and life and in turn this will improve your relationships, friendships, work and home life. Make a list of activities that you enjoy and make you feel relaxed. This can be anything from watching a film, reading a book, having a relaxing bath, going for a walk, meditating or anything else that you enjoy.

This is one of the most important for me. Whether you spend your time at home working on your college work, business or watching TV it is so important to have a scheduled time to stop for the night and to start winding down WITHOUT any electronic devices. This is a perfect time to read, meditate, listen to podcasts, have a bath or anything else to wind down before bed and give you the best chance for a good nights sleep.
