Get Started With Personal Development
From personal experience I know how hard it can be to get started with personal development. Like you don’t know who to turn to, where to start and what to do. That’s where I come in. See, I’ve been through it my self. I’ve been exactly where you are now, feeling the way you are feeling.
I made the decision to get started with personal development in my late teens and it transformed my life. Now I’m here to help you through the same time. How to get started with personal development
Step 1: imagine the future
How do you want to feel? What is different to how you think and feel now? Spend time imagining this in as much detail as you can to get clear on the results you want to get from personal development. This will help you to realise what areas you should focus on to improve.
Step 2: focus on one area
Choose your main priority for now. Whether that is confidence, self-love, anxiety, stress or anything else choose one and write it down.
Step 3: recognise current habits
Spend some time reflecting on any current habits you have that may be having a negative impact on this area. Do you say negative things about yourself? Do you not have a good sleep routine? Maybe you spend time gossiping? Write down all the current habits.
Step 4: choose your new habits
It’s time to choose your new habits. This is where it can become overwhelming because there are so many to choose from. I recommend getting started with 1 or 2 and sticking with them until you get consistent. You can add more habits in when you feel the time is right. Do research on different types of personal development habits and choose the ones that you enjoy doing (this is very important, they have to be ones that are enjoyable to do)
Step 5: create a routine
Now that you have your new habits you can put together a routine. Choose a time of day that works for you and that you can do everyday. This may be first thing in the morning, after the school run, during lunch time or before bed. Next pick an amount of time that you know you can commit to and that isn’t too much then you can always add more time later.
