A Guide To Building Confidence
Today I want to share with you a very inspiring story from one of my clients and Manage Anxiety: The Freedom Formula members. This is a guide to building confidence.

When was the last time you let fear and doubt go? You deserve a life full of confidence, growth, and authenticity. Here’s how to elevate in more ways than one.
It’s crazy how society, over thinking and fear contribute to the way we feel about ourselves. This fear then spills over into our goals and actions. This is something I’ve experienced first hand and more so in my twenties. A lot of my lack of confidence started with the way I talked to myself. Social media also contributes to picking at your flaws and trying to change things that aren’t even a problem. Let me give you a few simple, yet effective tips on how I grew my confidence and how Succeed Now played a part in that.
What’s the problem?
I didn’t know what started contributing to my lack of confidence at first, or maybe I was just in denial. But I quickly realized I’ve changed over the years and some of those ways I didn’t particularly like. This is the first step in fixing self-destructive habits. Figure out the cause of the problem! I had to take the time to realize what was hindering me from pursuing what I wanted in life. After looking in the mirror, I realized my weight gain was the root of the problem. I wasn’t the size I use to be and it seemed as if nothing I did to lose weight worked. Bit I didn’t know what to do next and how this really impacted my life. Do you ever feel this way? What was the one thing that made you notice you weren’t as confident as you once were?
Talk it out
After being in the Succeed Now Facebook group, I decided a clarity call was what I needed. Maybe talking about what I’m dealing with, with a stranger could help me out. I hopped on a call with Lucy and talk to her about stresses in my life that caused me to then stress eat. Then I also explained to her where I wanted to be in life and how I noticed a pattern. I dug deeper into what caused me to gain more weight than I imagined. Instead of dealing with the stress of moving and being a new business owner, i ate some of those stresses away. Lucy gave me two tips that stood out to me and I’ll never forget them. She said “Spend time everyday visualising where you want be”. She also said “After you spend time visualising, live as if that’s you now”.
The following day, I began scheduling visualizing and prayer (manifesting) sessions into my schedule. Verbal communication also allows you to find the source of your fear, how to prevent it from spilling into other important parts of your life and how to prevent it in the future. I believe that EVERYONE should confide in someone and get a different point of view on how to execute elevation. Whether that trusted someone is family, a friend, or someone you speak to in support groups. Talking situations out help start the process of healing and growth.
I noticed that I had a few bad habits that I needed to get rid of. The first was eating when I’m dealing with my emotions. Deciding to cut out eating when I was upset, stressed or bored was one of the best things I’ve done on this journey. Instead, I decided to focus more on things I loved. I began working more on my art and ways to perfect my self expression. Networking was apart of my weekly routine and I got in the habit of doing it a lot more. I knew that where I want to be, I couldn’t take self doubt with me. I also asked for more help with figuring out ways to grow my businesses and blog.
The second thing I changed was SELF TALK. I can’t express enough how important it is to love yourself and hype yourself up. Get rid of comparisons because you were created with a purpose and that purpose wasn’t to be like others. I began complimenting myself more and pushing myself to do things I would normally be afraid of. I reached out to brands, launched my shop, promoted my businesses more and even showed a bigger audience my art. After getting three major art features, I knew what I was doing was working. This was the push I needed.
The last thing I did was prayed more. I spent more time letting go of what made me feel less of myself and asked for guidance so that i could feel complete. Not everyone is into prayer but simple alone time works perfectly.
Taking advice and action
After taking my own advice and what I leaned in Succeed Now, I noticed MAJOR changes in my life. I no longer got on social media and picked at my greatness because I didn’t look the way I use to. I had to realize I am a work in progress, meaning what I want to see isn’t going to happen over night. But if i don’t start, it would happen at all.
I lost a few pounds and am still working on living a healthier lifestyle, that consists if being more active and eating clean. I launched two of my business; one art related business and the other apparel and accessories. I reached out to brands that I would normally not feel prepared for speaking to. I was offered several magazines interviews, app collaborations and other great offers. My boost in confidence allowed me to add more people to my team, an increase in support and being more engaging .
It’s amazing how support, clarity and daily changes can contribute to the success of our lives. Now imagine how much of an impact fear, negative thoughts and a lack of confidence has on our lives. It’s time to get rid of that because you deserve better. It starts now. I hope my tips can help you just as much as they’ve helped me to grow. As I always love to say “Be flawless, be fearless and be authentic”.
